Happy December!

After a much needed restful and filling holiday weekend, we're happy to be back at the studio and ready to get back to work!

It's been an exciting couple of months here at Pomann Sound. We've had the pleasure of working with some of our long time friends and collaborators as well as meeting some great new people that we hope to work with again many times in the future. Here's just a short recap of some of the projects we've wrapped up in the past couple of months...

Would you make a better millionaire?
We were lucky to work with the awesome creative team at McCann on the new NY Lottery radio campaign. We created a bunch of hilarious spots featuring different ways millionaires spend their money foolishly. We wrote original minstrel music, recorded a professional recorder player, created a fake radio show, actually almost broke an iPhone recording foley and recorded hours and hours of people pretending to be a cats....poorly. You can hear the English and Spanish versions of the spots now!

Who doesn't love ice cream and folk instruments?!
Our good friends over at Mekanism were back at the studio last month to have us produce original music and sound design for a new worldwide Ben & Jerry's TV spot. We finally got some use out of our ukuleles and shakers! The whole team played on this track which was originally written by Max Conklin...Yummm

A final run in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup!
Ogilvy and Beast Editorial were here earlier this month to work on a new NASCAR TV spot featuring Jeff Gordon to commemorate his final race at the NASCAR Sprint Cup. We had a lot of fun working with creative Jack Lowe from Ogilvy on the sound design and mix. We were able to use archival sound clips and Bob's custom recorded sounds to create the immersive and nostalgic feeling that was needed to highlight this important milestone. It premiered during the Bank of America 500 and we were really proud with how it came out...Congrats on a great career Jeff!

Sports Sports Sports
Continuing with our sports themed month, we were thrilled to be tagged by NBC Sports to sound design and mix their new global branding commercial which you can now see/hear on all NBC channels. Mixer/sound designer Justin Kaupp and creative director Bob Pomann worked together and pulled out all the stops in creating this intense promo. If you listen closey you might be able to hear some of us yelling!

The crew at Pomann Sound is hard at work mixing MTV's new international cooking show The Brothers Green. Blending bite-sized cooking segments with their love of music, these two Brooklyn based bros hit it huge with their YouTube channel Midnight Munchies. Without a fancy kitchen or big budget ingredients, The Brothers Green move to MTV where they hope to inspire a new generation to cook great things.

Ellie Kemper and the JAM! stop by Pomann Sound

Pomann Sound welcomed Ellie Kemper and Jon Glaser to the studio last week to record VO for Conan O'brien's parody superhero cartoon, The Flaming C. Being that The Office and Parks and Rec are some of our all time favorite shows made their visit a special moment for us. You can catch episodes of the Flaming C at teamcoco.com

 Gabriel Rush (Right)
Congrats to Gabriel Rush (18), who not only stared in No Letting Go, recently mixed by Pomann Sound, but is also in Wes Anderson's now oscar winning film Grand Budapest Hotel. Playing the character of Otto, a lobby boy, Rush's first feature film was another Wes Anderson film, Moonrise Kingdom. In case you missed it, Grand Budapest Hotel took home four Oscars last week. We can't wait to see what else is in store for this young actor.

No Letting Go, an Independent film directed by Jonathon Bucari, was mixed by engineer Justin Kaupp at Dolby Deluxe Studios, and happens to be the first independent film with a budget under 10 million dollars to be mixed in Dolby Atmos. Stay tuned for more news on No Letting Go and for all things Pomann Sound.

New ABC drama comes to Pomann Sound

If your TV geeks like we are, I'm sure you've seen previews for ABC's new drama, American Crime. From the same director who brought us 12 Years a Slave (John Ridley) this drama takes place during a racially charged murder case in Modesto California. It looks suspenseful, timely and well written, which makes us even more excited about recording ADR for episodes in its premier seasion.

Watch the trailer below, it will give you chills.

New Kinky Boots campaign recorded at Pomann Sound

Its hard not to get "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" stuck in your head after you recorded Cyndi Lauper. Which is exactly what happened last week when Cyndi and Spotco came in to record for the new Kinky Boots radio campaign. Already in its third year of production, you'll have a whole new set of Lauper songs stuck in your head after seeing this show.

Fun Fact: Cyndi is the first female to solely win for Best Score at the Tony Awards

No Business like Snow Business...?

On this snowy New York winter day we thought it'd be a good time to catch you up on some of the radio campaigns we've been working on.

The first campaign we're excited about is for the acclaimed broadway show Newsies. Working alongside Sweet Sadie, we're excited to be apart of this great show. If you haven't seen it yet, Newsies is kicking of its forth year running with a 25 city tour!

An oldie but a goodie, the musical Chicago is now on its 19th year of production. This will be the second time Pomann Sound has done a campaign for the classic Broadway show, the first being back in 2013.

If you haven't seen advertisements yet, check it out. The Marvel Experience live action show looks amazing and another giant leap for the Marvel Universe. This universe might be a little to big for a Broadway stage, but thats a good thing. We're just happy to be a part of it.
